2006 US MID-AMATEUR CHAMPION DAVE WOMACK TO SPEAK AT

ATLANTA JUNIOR GOLF AWARDS BANQUET

 

             MARIETTA, Ga. (June 24, 2008) – Atlanta Junior Golf has announced that 2006 United States Mid-Amateur Champion and former player Dave Womack will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Atlanta Junior Golf Awards Banquet at Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta on Friday, September 19.

            Womack, who plays in a variety of amateur tournaments around Georgia and throughout the United States, will share his memories playing junior golf, winning the 2006 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, as well as his experience playing Augusta National Golf Club during The Masters last year.

            “We are very proud to have a former junior golfer experience so much success both on and off the golf course,” said Jeff Holt, Atlanta Junior Golf executive director. “We are thrilled to have Dave speak to our current juniors, and look forward to an entertaining and inspiring evening of remarks.”

            The McDonough, Ga., native played in the Atlanta Junior Golf Association from 1990-1993. Womack was a three-time all conference selection while playing on the Georgia State University men’s golf team. He is married and is an insurance agent at McGarity Insurance Agency in McDonough.  

            The Atlanta Junior Golf Association is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and gains its funding through memberships, sponsorships and contributions. Contributions to the association are thus tax deductible by individuals and corporations alike. The Atlanta Junior Golf Association is governed by a Board of Directors who are leading area business people, golf enthusiasts and golf professionals. Members of the Board serve as volunteers and help guide the activities of the organization.
