May was a very busy month for us here at Atlanta Junior Golf. We completed 16 orientation and rules seminars for our first and second year members, totally over 600 participants! What an amazing group of juniors, we really enjoyed every seminar this year and can’t wait to see everyone on the course this summer.

Staff training was a huge success this year. This year we have a little over 50 staff members, whose golf experience and knowledge varies from former AJG players, college golfers and a few others who just love this wonderful game of golf.  They are looking forward to seeing everyone this summer.

Monday kicks off our first “Big Monday” of the Summer Series, with 4 tournaments and over 220 juniors participating. The Monday tournaments this coming week are located at Brookfield Country Club in Roswell, Charlie Yates Golf Course at East Lake in Atlanta, Griffin Country Club in Griffin and The Hooch Golf Club in Duluth. Last week we had a great time at Callaway Gardens for the Summer Series Preview tournament. This event was a 36-Hole tournament designed to highlight the Grand Championship in late July. If you missed out on all the fun this year, don’t worry, we would love to see you at next year’s Summer Series Preview!

A few reminders as we enter the tournament season. Remember to DRINK plenty of water!! The summers here in Georgia are hot so make sure you bring a water bottle to the course and fill it up every time you see a water cooler. Also, remember to arrive to your assigned tee time 10 minutes early because we would hate to have to penalize you if you are late to the tee. Most importantly, have FUN and GOOD LUCK!
