As a player, I played in two Grand Championships, and as a staff member this was the third Grand Championship that I have worked. This year’s Grand Championship was competed on July 31st through August 2nd at Chateau Elan Golf Club. The tournament started out with a lot of energy at the players cookout and the long drive contest. Atlanta Junior Golf doesn’t have any other event that is like the long drive contest, with music playing in the back ground and about 100 people gathered around a tee box to watch you hit a drive.

This was the tournament that I was in charge of. I put a lot of time and effort into the tournament, lots of prep work, and plenty of work during the two days of the tournament. The 9-Hole Classic was competed on July 29th and 30th on the front nine at Chateau Elan Golf Club. I was able to pick out tee gifts, and I ordered some custom AJG Frisbees. The players that played in the 9-Hole Classic were the only ones to get these Frisbees, and I personally think that they were awesome.

For the Club Championship we were back at City Club Marietta on July 25th and 26th. The golf course was in fantastic condition! The 9-Hole Division competed only on the first day of competition and there were some good scores. Not only were they competing to have a good finish in the Club Championship, I know a lot of junior golfers were very interested in qualifying for the 9-Hole Classic by finishing in the top three in their division.
