A Conversation
with Diana Ramage
What's your fondest memory of Atlanta Junior Golf?
I met some life-long friends
and it gave us something to do. It was so much fun playing in
the events. It was also competitive and I learned some great
life lessons. I think we all learned so much. It was great,
because we were learning a sport we could play the rest of our
lives.
How much do you play these days?
I probably play once a week now - at the most. I have been
bothered by two sore shoulders, so I try to play a little here
and there. Since I work in sales, I sometimes join my boss for a
round. I would have to say now, I probably play once a week.
How has Atlanta Junior Golf benefited you the most?
I think it prepared me for playing in AJGA (American Junior
Golf Association) events. It prepared me for college golf. It
introduced me to golf and it was a great experience that opened
doors beyond I could have ever imagine.
What was your experience
like playing college golf?
If I could go back and play again tomorrow, I would! It was awesome. I had
so much fun playing college golf at Auburn. Our team was Top 10
in the country when I was there. My three best friends are my
old teammates. We really enjoyed traveling and I enjoyed playing
some terrific courses. It was great, because I really enjoyed
having a coach. Coach [Kim] Evans, who was here with Atlanta
Junior Golf before she took the job at Auburn, recruited me. It
was interesting, because I started playing in the program right
after she left. It's funny to make that connection.
What was it like playing on
the LPGA Tour?
Well, if I had to do it over again, I think I would still
play, but I know there are things that I would do differently.
