A Conversation with Rance Nix
If you could choose a dream foursome, who would you play with?

My Dad (Keenan), my friend (Tyler Lawrence) and Tiger Woods.

What parts of your game do you work on the most?
I try to work on my short game. Since I'm not the longest hitter, my short game needs to be on point for me to compete in events.

How much do you practice?
I try to practice and play most of the year, or whenever I can come out and play. I play mostly when school is out during the summer and during the beginning of the school year (when the school work is minimal). I also practice at the First Tee and sometimes I'll take private lessons, too.

What do you like most about Atlanta Junior Golf?
It's competitive golf. I've made a lot of good friends. It's a great experience, and it's not too hard. I also like it, because you can find a division that best fits your game.

Do you have a favorite golf memory?
I played Canongate at Georgia National last year. I played my first two holes really bad, but I shot par the rest of the round and finished with a 44. I came in second place.

How has Atlanta Junior Golf helped your game?
I have learned a lot about the competitive side of the game. It's also helped me to stay focused, especially after having a bad hole. I know I need to stay calm and think about the next shot or the next hole.

You are still playing in some events, but you are also interested in volunteering at events, too. Do you plan to help out at any more tournaments?
Yes, I would like to volunteer at some more events. It was fun.
