A Conversation with Max LaVictoire
If you could choose a dream foursome, who would you play with?

Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods.

What parts of your game do you work on the most?
I working on driving the most. If I have trouble when I'm playing, it's usually keeping my drives in the fairway.

How has Atlanta Junior Golf helped you or your game?
Atlanta Junior Golf has taught me the mental side of the game. I don't play 10 months of the year like some of my friends, but playing out here helps me work on the competitive side of golf.

What are your goals in golf? What would you like to accomplish?
I would like to play college golf. If I could set one goal, I would love to play college golf on scholarship.

You have a terrific story. You have been running a charity golf tournament for the past two years helping raise money for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Tell us about it.
When I was in second grade my sister, Rachel, was diagnosed with leukemia. Before my eighth birthday, I talked to my parents about fundraising and setting up a foundation rather than receiving gifts for my birthday. Up until I was in fourth grade, my sister and I raised money through family and friends, and made donations through the Big Dreams Foundation to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

When I was in fifth grade, some of my friends pooled their money together from their Bar Mitzvahs and birthdays, and made a $1500 donation. Over the last two years, with my friend, Drew Weprinsky, we have been able to raise more than $60,000 through the Big Dreams Charity tournament. [This year's tournament will take place at Horseshoe Bend Country Club in Roswell on Monday, June 9.] We are hoping to raise more than $30,000 this year.

If someone is interested in playing in the tournament or making a donation, how can they help? What can they do?
They can email me or Drew (Weprinsky) to sign up and participate in the tournament. The tournament is a lot of fun. We have about 100 kids - boys and girls, ages 10-18 - play every year, and we hope to have more play this year! They can contribute anytime by going to www.miraclegolfconcepts.com, also.
