Awards Banquet

Players of the year, All-AJG Team and All-AJG Academic Team members, and those receiving special awards are recognized at the highly attended year-end banquet which is held at Druid Hills Golf Club in early fall each year.

Players of the Year

Awarded to the top point finisher(s) from each age group in the Open Division.

All-AJG Team

Awarded to the top 10 point finishers from each age group in the Open Division and the top five point finishers from each age group in the Club Division (including ties).

All-AJG Academic Team

Awarded to those high-school student-athletes having a 3.5 or higher GPA. To be eligible, year-end transcripts must be sent to the AJG office by Aug. 1.

MAADA Award

An award that recognizes the player with the highest Player of the Year Points standing for the season from the 18-Hole Open Division. In the event of a tie, the player who earned the most cumulative points in all of his/her events will be recognized at the MAADA Award winner.

Most Improved Award

Awarded to the most improved male and female from the 18-Hole divisions (Open or Club). Players must play at least 5 complete 18-hole rounds in consecutive seasons to be eligible for this award.

Larry Nelson Sportsmanship Award

An award recognizing the juniors who best exemplify and understand the courtesies, decorum and etiquette of the game of golf. Larry Nelson and AJG feel these attributes are the most important lessons taught by this great game.

Grand Championship Giddings Cup Trophies

Perpetual trophies are presented to the champions from the Grand Championship in the 18-Hole Open Boys 15-18 Division and 18-Hole Open Girls 7-18 Division.

Aroha "Roh" Wezner Trophy

Given each year in honor of former Executive Director Aroha "Roh" Wezner, this award recognizes the 18-Hole Open Division player with the lowest scoring average from the Summer Series. Players must have participated in at least five events to be eligible to receive this award.

Jr. Golf Ambassador Award

Presented annually to a group or individual who has contributed to the advancement of junior golf and helped to secure its future by promoting and preserving the traditions and integrity of the game.
