The Grand Championship is contested the last week of July at one of Georgia's most popular recreational destinations. Atlanta Junior Golf members and their families have an opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of activities, including golf, tennis, biking, horseback riding, swimming and more! The field is comprised of the top junior golfers in each age group from 18-Hole Open Division (including the 18-Hole 12 & Under Division). Winning this highly competitive 54-hole championship is the most coveted title of the year.

All qualifiers must be current AJG Members and have participated in at least five Summer Series tournaments during the current year. Invitations will be sent to the following individuals: (1) Defending overall Grand Champion(s) and age group winners; (2) Previous year's AJG Players of the Year from the 18-Hole Open Division; (3) 18-Hole Open Division players placing first in their respective age groups in three Summer Series events, during the current year, and having neither a NS nor a NC; (4) Top three finishers in each division of the 18-Hole Club Championship; and (5) remaining players qualify on points as follows (all ties for final spots in each age group qualify): 18-Hole Boys 12 & Under (top 15), 18-Hole Open Boys 13-14 (top 24), 18-Hole Open Boys 15-18 (top 48), 18-Hole Open Girls 7-18 (top 9); (5) Special invitation by AJG.

$230 (includes tee gifts, daily tournament greens fees and range balls, prizes and awards, and dinner following mandatory rules meeting Monday night).

Contestant practice rounds may be scheduled through Chateau Elan Golf Club for any day prior to the Grand Championship for $25.00 per junior golfer (plus tax). While not required, many contestants choose to play their practice round on Monday, July 25 before the mandatory rules meeting (the final tee time available to Grand Championship contestants on this day is 1:00 pm).

All players must contact the golf shop at (678) 425-6050 and identify themselves as an Atlanta Junior Golf participant to arrange their own practice round tee time. Parents or others accompanying the junior golfer are responsible for their own golf and may play at the discounted rate of $50.00 per golfer (plus tax). Starting times for round one of the 2011 Grand Championship will be available online after 5:00 pm on Friday, July 22. Tee times for subsequent rounds will be available shortly after play has concluded for all age groups each day. 54 holes stroke play over three days on the Chateau Course. Tees for each age group are: 18-Hole Boys 12 & Under/Girls (White - 5,512 yards); 18-Hole Open Boys 13-14 (Green - 6,306 yards); 18-Hole Open Boys 15-18 (Gold 6,831 yards).

All players must attend the mandatory registration and player meeting on Monday, July 25. Player registration will occur between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm, with the mandatory rules meeting (7:00 pm to 7:30 pm) and dinner (7:30 pm to 9:00 pm) to immediately follow. Failure to attend either registration or the mandatory rules meeting will result in the player being withdrawn from the event without refund. All contestants are invited to participate in a longest drive contest that will occur during the dinner/cookout following the rules meeting. Family and guests are encouraged to attend the dinner and may purchase tickets during online registration or by calling the office.

Caddies and/or automotive transportation are NOT allowed for any participants in this championship. Players must walk and carry their own bags at all times. Player-owned pull carts ARE allowed.

The driving range will be open before each day of the competition at 6:45 am. A shuttle will carry players from the bag drop the range as needed. Practice balls are available on the range and players may access the range without any additional fees before their round each day of the tournament. After each round, players receive one (1) free range token (apx. 40 balls), afterwards players are responsible for any additional practice fees.

The overall Boys’ (Boys 15-18 division) and Girls’ (Girls 7-18 division) Grand Champions will each receive one (1) Performance Based Entry (PBE) exemption into a future American Junior Golf Association tournament. Visit www.ajga.org for more information.

No refunds will be given under any circumstance (including inclement weather) after 5:00 pm on Friday, July 22. Players who cancel before 5:00 pm on Friday, July 22 will receive a refund less a $50 administrative fee.
