For the second consecutive season, the 9-Hole Classic will join the Grand Championship at one of Atlanta's popular recreational destinations. By hosting the 9-Hole Classic at the same venue as the Grand Championship, it challenges all of the contestants and gives them the inside look at what to expect at the next level. The field for the 9-Hole Classic is comprised of the top players in the 9-Hole Open Divisions and the top players from the 9-Hole Club Championship.

All qualifiers must be current AJG Members and have participated in at least five Summer Series tournaments during the current year. Invitations will be sent to the following individuals: (1) Previous year's 9-Hole Classic winners that are currently playing in the the 9-Hole Open Divisions; (2) Previous year's AJG Players of the Year from the 9-Hole Open Divisions; (3) 9-Hole Open Division players placing first in their respective age groups in three Summer Series events, during the current year, and having neither a NS nor a NC; (4) Top three finishers in each division of the 9-Hole Club Championship; (5) remaining players qualify on points as follows (all ties for final spots in each age group qualify): 9-Hole Open Boys 12 & Under (top 18), 9-Hole Open Boys 13 & Over (top 18), 9-Hole Open Girls 7-18  (top 12); and (6) Special invitations by AJG.

$100 (includes tee gifts, daily tournament greens fees and range balls, prizes and awards, and dinner following Awards Ceremony Monday night)

Contestant practice rounds may be scheduled through the Chateau Elan golf shop for any day prior to the 9-Hole Classic at a rate of $15.00 plus tax (9-holes) $25.00 plus tax (18-holes) per junior golfer. Parents may also play for $50 plus tax (this is an 18-Hole rate only, there are no 9-Hole rates available for parents).

All players must contact the Chateau Elan golf shop at (678) 425-6050 and identify themselves as an Atlanta Junior Golf participant to arrange their own practice round tee time. No practice rounds are allowed on Sunday morning before the competition begins Sunday afternoon.

Starting times for round one of the 2011 9-Hole Classic will be available online after 5:00 pm on Friday, July 22. Tee times for the subsequent rounds will be available shortly after play. Approximate tee times for all divisions are now available on the event home page.

18 holes (9 holes per day) stroke play over two days at Chateau Elan Golf Club. All play will be from the White Tees. Both days of competition will take place on the front-nine.

Caddies and/or automotive transportation are NOT allowed for any participants in this championship. Players must walk and carry their own bags at all times. Player-owned pull carts ARE allowed.

The driving range will be open before each day of the competition at 1:00 pm. A shuttle will carry players from the bag drop the range as needed. Players will need to obtain range tokens (two (2) maximum) before round from clubhouse. There is no additional fees before a player's round. After each round, players receive one (1) free range token (apx. 40 balls), afterwards players are responsible for any additional practice fees.

No refunds will be given under any circumstance (including inclement weather) after 12:00 pm on Friday, July 22. Players who cancel before 12:00 pm on Friday, July 22 will receive a refund less a $25 administrative fee.

Hotel accommodations may be secured by contacting Chateau Elan Resort at (678) 425-0900. Atlanta Junior Golf has reserved a “run-of-house” block which may include rooms in the Inn, Spa and/or Golf Village.
